Industrial electronics in renewable energy generation systems  

  • This subject integrates different skills gained or reviewed in the previous terms and includes contents on power electronics, generation and transmission systems, power plants, control and modelling. The basic aim is to understand the operation of power electronic circuits used in renewable power systems. Also the instrumentation and telemetry subsystems are discussed.

  • This subject focuses on the application and digital implementation of control algorithms to electrical power systems. Also the communications strategies and monitoring schemes used in power systems and electric vehicles are studied.

Distributed Generation Systems and power quality

  • In this course students will examine different renewable power generation systems included in the special regulations for renewable energy. The analysis of this technology is carried out from the point of view of technical, economic and normative issues.

Analysis, modeling and simulation of electric power systems

  • This subject deals with the required skills to study (analytically and numerically) the electric power systems. It includes the use of software environments intended to simulate and validate the behaviour of the analytic models obtained.
