Major on Offshore Wind Power Generation and Other Renewable Sources (Technical-Economic Management)

WGTOM - Offshore Wind Generators: Technologies, Structures, Operation and Maintenance

This course analyzes the technical requirements of offshore wind generators, in terms of power elements, electrical generator, control and auxiliary systems, as well as structural requirements. The different technologies involved are compared, and the main requirements from the point of view of operation and maintenance are established.

ECTS: 4
Optional
SIES Code: MCEESP03-2-007

WGDC - Design and Implementation of Wind Generators

The planning of renewable energy facilities is analyzed and designed, including the investigation of the location. Feasibility study of renewable energy facilities, as well as decision making based on objective criteria. A detailed design of offshore wind renewable energy installations is carried out.

ECTS: 5
Optional
SIES Code: MCEESP03-2-008

EFA - Economic and Financial Analysis

In this course the student will obtain an overview of the investments and costs necessary to supply electricity, taking into account the main economic and financial conditions.

ECTS: 4
Optional
SIES Code: MCEESP03-2-003

PM - Electrical Energy Project Management (renewable and conventional)

Modern Project Management techniques are discussed in this subject. Special emphasis will be placed on the management of investment projects and their feasibility analysis, applying financial concepts to electric power projects and performing different case studies. The course will focus on renewable generation, especially offshore wind power.

ECTS: 4
Optional
SIES Code: MCEESP03-2-004

EM - Electric Markets

The aim is to provide an overview of the different existing alternatives for electricity generation and primary energy production, as well as the expected evolution of this type of technology.

ECTS: 4
Optional
SIES Code: MCEESP03-2-005

SIMUPS - Simulation applied to power systems

The aim is to review the different existing alternatives for the simulation of electrical power systems using programs such as PSIM, DIGSLENT, Matlab/Simulink, etc.

ECTS: 3
Mandatory
